In the course dipl. Förster/-in HF you will acquire action and leadership skills to manage a forestry operation or to work as a forestry consultant. As a practitioner, you will be very familiar with the forest and, as the manager of a public or private forestry operation, you will develop and implement a business plan.
Graduates of this course are responsible for forest management and consulting. The well-trained managers also know the forest very well as practitioners. As a manager of a public or private forestry operation, they are able to develop and implement a business plan. In doing so, they have to reconcile profitability, work safety, rational use of machinery, and also the interests of silviculture, nature conservation and the public.
The duties of foresters include tasks such as personnel management and task planning, finance and accounting, sales, communication and operational analysis. They are also often involved in education and training and maintain contacts with all professional and personal groups interested in the forest.
Foresters also find new fields of activity in forest-related areas, e.g. as managers or consultants in the timber industry, in administrations, planning offices, associations or in the environmental sector.
