The study program "Secondary Level I (consecutive)" at the University of Teacher Education of the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland comprises 120 credits and ends with the degree "Master of Arts". The degree program is offered in Basel and Brugg-Windisch in German.
You already have a recognized teaching diploma and would like to obtain the level extension Master Sekundarstufe I. This diploma qualifies you to teach two subjects studied.
With a teaching diploma in pre-primary/primary or primary education, you will study two subjects (subject sciences, subject didactics) as well as the educational science and professional practice components. You will graduate with a "Master of Arts FHNW in Secondary Education" and a teaching diploma for secondary level I in the school subjects studied.
Requirements
- Teachers with an EDK-recognized teaching diploma for the preschool/primary level or the primary level.
- Teaching diploma recognized by the EDK, three years of teaching experience (at least 50% per year) at the primary or lower secondary level.
- Teachers with a Sek II diploma complete the consecutive Sek I course of study with extensive crediting of credits already earned.
