Description

The University of Teacher Education of Northwestern Switzerland (PH FHNW) is a university for teachers and placement professions that offers degree programs for all teaching professions from preschool to upper secondary level. It is supported by the Swiss cantons of Aargau, Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft and Solothurn, with its headquarters in Brugg-Windisch. It is characterized by the fact that it is integrated into the higher education structure of a university of applied sciences and offers teacher training with a cross-cantonal orientation. The PH FHNW employs around 3,000 students and 650 staff. The services offered are based on the fourfold performance mandate of the universities of applied sciences, which includes education, research, development and services. The focus is on the education and further training of teachers.
