Dear physicians, dear responsible persons in the health care system
Am I acting effectively and with an eye to the future? Am I making ethical and sustainable decisions? Do I use the available information?
Whether you are a clinic director, a senior physician or a cadre in the health department: as a manager in the health care sector, you are permanently challenged. Your environment is volatile and complex. The information situation is uncertain and ambiguous. You have acquired the professional competence that is indispensable for success in your studies and profession. In basic training, however, little attention is often paid to leadership skills. Only by combining both competencies can you apply your knowledge successfully and effectively. The ongoing Covid 19 pandemic relentlessly reminds how effective and agile decision-making processes, combined with efficient information analysis, are crucial for leadership in challenging situations.
Starting in 2020, the University of Lucerne will offer the "CAS Decision Making and Situation Monitoring" for individuals who hold or aspire to hold leadership positions in the healthcare sector. We have based this on our experience in leadership training and have developed it further specifically for you. With the two core contents of this program, namely decision-making competence (Decision Making) and information processing competence (Situation Monitoring), we focus on those skills that are indispensable for leaders in special and extraordinary situations. In a proven and unique way for university continuing education, we integrate scientific content with practical application in highly intensive practical modules.
With this continuing education program, we want to equip you with the leadership skills that are necessary for your effective and sustainable impact in the healthcare sector. I would be very pleased to invite you to explore our offering online or through a consultation.
Admitted are physicians with several years of professional experience as well as managers with a university degree (university, university of applied sciences, university of education) and a connection to the healthcare sector. The board of the continuing education program decides on the admission of candidates without a university degree (sur dossier). The necessary language skills to follow the lessons in German and in English are a prerequisite for successful completion.
