Would you like to take the step from specialist to manager? This CAS provides you with the know-how to successfully perform your first leadership function.

Leadingstaff and using group dynamics productively.
Specific skills are required for leading employees, planning team tasks and coordinating implementation processes. These include an awareness of one's own understanding of leadership and the development of a personal leadership style. The specifics of the leadership role and personnel management, concepts and instruments of personnel management as well as dealing with group dynamics are important cornerstones of the curriculum. It combines theoretical concepts, practical tools and reflection on personal experiences - they are the key to successful personnel management and team leadership.

Attractive elective options.
The CAS offers participants the opportunity to complete their repertoire of competencies in self-leadership, time management, project management and employment law. They are free to choose two of these four courses to tailor the CAS to their individual needs.

Objectives

  • Participants have knowledge about leading employees and managing teams.
  • They can implement appropriate methods and tools in their organization.
  • They are prepared for a new leadership role.
  • They have supplemented their individual competence profile by attending two elective courses in the areas of self-leadership, time management, project management and labor law.

Content

Module 1: Fundamentals of Personnel Leadership and Management (6 ECTS)

  • CAS introduction
  • Introduction to the leadership role
  • Working with and in groups - processes, dynamics, resistances
  • Human resource management
  • Qualification

Module 2: New to leadership (3 ECTS)

  • From organizing to organizational design
  • Leading and deciding in areas of tension
  • Leading conversations, conflict moderation and negotiation

Module 3: Methods of leadership and self-leadership (2 x 3 ECTS)

Participants individually choose two of the following four elective courses. (These will be advertised as individual continuing education courses after the CAS registration deadline if places are available).

Target audience

This course is aimed at professionals who would like to prepare for their first management position in the future, as well as new managers with little experience in family and after-school care (daycare centers, after-school care), education (school, work education, university administration), the social sector, the health sector, public administration and human resources.
