How do unemployment and inflation arise? What ethical issues need to be considered in the context of globalization? What is the relationship between economic growth and environmental aspects? Such questions and other aspects form the content basis of the modern Bachelor's degree course in Economics. The well-founded basic academic training with an economic focus provides you with theoretical knowledge with practical application.
The Bachelor of Science in Economics comprises 18 modules (180 ECTS credits in total). It covers many classic, but also current areas of economics: from micro- and macroeconomics, empirical economic research, economic policy or globalization to environmental economics, information economics or behavioral economics. The course concludes with an academic Bachelor's thesis.
Prospects
The Bachelor of Science degree qualifies students for entry into a wide range of professional activities, e.g. in production or service companies, in international or non-profit organizations, in public administration, in business associations or management consultancies. Students who wish to remain active in their traditional profession will find the degree a valuable additional qualification. It expands existing knowledge and also opens the door to further Master's studies.
