The approach is based on the work of industrial designers and follows an iterative process: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test, Reflect. It can be used to solve all kinds of problems. It is suitable for products, hardware and software, services, business models, in the business-to-business or business-to-costumer area, but also for processes and internal issues, for example in the area of human resources or in supply chain management. In an interdisciplinary team, students learn to identify latent needs and expectations of different stakeholders. From these expectations, as many ideas as possible are generated, implemented, tested and refined to ultimately arrive at innovative solutions that offer real added value.
