Description

The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) is a public-law university of applied sciences in Lucerne. It was founded in 1997 under the name "University of Applied Sciences of Central Switzerland" (FHZ) and is the largest educational institution in Central Switzerland. In 2015, 5,042 students attended a bachelor's degree program, 1,002 students attended a master's degree program, and 4,440 students attended a continuing education program at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Lucerne. Since 2001, the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Central Switzerland has been known as the "Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts" and since October 2007, the five sub-schools of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Central Switzerland have also presented themselves to the outside world jointly under the name "Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts". Since January 1, 2013, the entire University of Applied Sciences and Arts has been placed under the uniform sponsorship of the six cantons.
