Description

The University of Applied Sciences of Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) is a public-law university of applied sciences with around 13,100 students. It comprises nine universities in the four sponsoring cantons of Aargau, Basel-Landschaft, Basel-Stadt and Solothurn. The seat is in Windisch AG. The FHNW was founded on January 1, 2006, based on a state treaty between the sponsoring cantons. The study programs are characterized by a strong practical orientation. They are offered as full- or part-time studies. The UASNW offers 29 Bachelor's and 18 Master's degree programs according to the Bologna system. In addition to education and training, application-oriented research and development are of great importance. In a wide range of scientific disciplines, the UASNW realizes research projects together with national and international partners from industry, business, culture, administration and institutions and also participates in European research programs.
