Provider: Careum Continuing Education
As a maternal and paternal counselor, you support parents at a time when the most important course is set for the child's development. You help to address developmental disorders and abnormalities at an early stage. You work closely in an interprofessional team and make a central and important contribution to the well-being of the child, to prevention and health promotion. With this postgraduate program, you will acquire specific, evidence-based skills and a high level of social and counseling competence to meet the complex demands of your everyday counseling work. You will acquire in-depth, comprehensive and practice-relevant knowledge - from development and education to pediatrics, legal principles, ethical aspects and interprofessional collaboration. You will train counseling and interviewing skills, gain confidence in dealing with challenging situations, and learn to systematically reflect on your role and counseling activities. Careum Continuing Education has revised and further developed the course in close collaboration with the Swiss Professional Association SF MVB, the Marie Meierhof Institute for the Child, the Careum University of Applied Sciences Health and experts in maternal and paternal counseling.
