Brief description
The specialist in palliative care with a federal diploma accompanies people with incurable, life-threatening and/or chronically progressive diseases and their relatives. As part of an interprofessional team, she/he provides evidence-based and resource-oriented specialist leadership in the care process for people in palliative care and treatment situations.
The newly designed course "Preparation for the Higher Professional Examination as a Specialist in Palliative Care" prepares you step by step for this task in basic and specialized palliative care and leads you through five modules to the Federal Higher Professional Examination.
Thanks to the use of modern teaching technologies and a high proportion of independent learning time, you are able to organize your continuing education time very individually. Your self-study will be accompanied by targeted tutoring from specialists.
The modular preparation course consists of 5 compulsory modules and comprises a total of 900 learning hours. Of these, 288 hours (36 days) are classroom instruction and 612 hours are guided self-study.
We assume that you are familiar with the functions of "Zoom" and the learning platform "moodle" when you start the course.
A free introductory offer is available to support you. This can also be completed in guided self-study. Two further offers "Introduction to Reading, Writing and Literature" and "Introduction to Learning Techniques, Self- and Time Management" support you in successfully attending and completing your course.
Each module concludes with a certificate of competence. Each module can also be attended as an individual module.
The modules "Professional Leadership in Nursing" and "Professional Leadership in Organization" can also be attended as part of preparatory courses with other focuses (gerontopsychiatry, nephrology, oncology, etc).
