Requirements

The general requirements for a PiBS study place are:

  • the gymnasiale Matura
  • vocational baccalaureate not related to the subject

interest in computer science and a successful application to one of the practice partners listed below or to a company of your choice (please take into account that this company must conclude a cooperation agreement with the FFHS). Therefore, please apply directly to the companies with the usual application documents, only then will you be enrolled at the FFHS.

The following admission requirements must be observed:

  • You have not yet completed a university degree in computer science or have studied a maximum of three semesters in computer science at a university (FH, Uni, ETH/EPFL). The head of the study program decides about credits. It is not possible to enter a higher semester (lack of practical experience).
  • For non-specialized vocational baccalaureate students, certain mathematics modules must be made up. Therefore, early registration is advantageous for them so that at least some of the modules to be made up can be taken before the start of the study program.
  • Candidates who already have work experience in an ICT-related or technically oriented profession of more than one year can unfortunately not be considered. In this case, we recommend the part-time Bachelor of Computer Science model.
  • The practice-integrated Bachelor of Computer Science (PiBS) is suitable as a first professional training after the Matura in order to gain professional experience.

Before you apply, we ask you to inform yourself well about the study model, the study contents, possible focuses and the procedure. Details can be found on our website, but an initial consultation with the FFHS student advisory service can also clarify further questions.
