Master of Arts PH Zürich in Secondary Education

The education for secondary level I was redesigned - in view of the curriculum 21 - in 2017.

The integrated bachelor's/master's degree program for secondary level I is divided into a three-year bachelor's phase and a one-and-a-half-year master's phase (full-time study). Graduation with a Bachelor's degree is possible in principle, but does not lead to a teaching diploma.

In addition, the Bachelor's phase is divided into a basic study and a diploma study. The basic study program, with an initial focus on practical vocational training, lasts one year for full-time study and concludes with the intermediate examinations.

Successful completion leads to the "Master of Arts in Secondary Education" as well as to the EDK-recognized teaching diploma for the secondary level I in the four self-selected teaching subjects.

Master part-time program Secondary I

The integrated Bachelor's/Master 's program in Secondary Education can also be completed part-time. The duration of study is extended to seven years: bachelor's degree five years, master's part two years.

Students complete the modules of the areas and subjects in the sequence provided in the module plans. In the first year, the study begins with professional practice, education and education and subject 1. In each subsequent academic year, another subject starts. Students complete the quarter internship in the 10th semester.

The study load is 63% of a full-time course. There are two to three weekdays off each year. The weekdays off change annually. Study weeks and internships must be completed full-time.

During the master's phase, the professional practice modules can be completed at the student's own place of work.
