Chemistry deals with all aspects of substance transformation, including the possibility of producing new substances not yet known. Thus, chemistry plays a central role in the natural sciences, technical sciences and medicine. The bachelor's program in chemistry provides a broad basic knowledge in the core subjects of inorganic, organic and physical chemistry, which is an excellent preparation for the subsequent master's program.
The research focus at the Department of Chemistry in Constance ranges from modern issues in the life sciences to current aspects of materials science. A special focus of the Constance bachelor's program in chemistry is on practical training in the laboratory.
Undergraduate studies leading to a first degree qualifying for a profession. Chemistry can also be selected as a minor subject in some degree programs.
