The course in technical business management creates the basis for taking on management tasks or, for example, switching from production to other company departments such as purchasing or sales. This development opportunity, which at the same time meets a great need in the economy and represents a great opportunity for first-time technical/trade apprentices, is promoted in many companies today.

In small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the advantages of this training are appreciated and used. The aim of the examination is to enable professionals to build up a level of expertise in business administration, accounting, marketing, purchasing, sales and organization, logistics and information technology that is necessary to become a generalist, with the corresponding examination subjects.

This course corresponds to the 2nd year of the Bachelor's program and is fully credited to it (60 ECTS points).
The exam-preparatory training period is completed in partial degrees, so that during this time the additional commercial or business management performance can be taken with an office specialist and commercial diploma VSH and a higher business diploma VSK for learners and with a view to career changes.
The aim is to prepare students for the federal examinations for technical business people. Admission to this examination is regulated in the examination regulations and must be completed at the latest before the examination begins (usually at the end of July of the planned examination year).
Admission to the federal examination (excerpt from the Anavant regulations)
According to Art. 3.3, admission to the federal examinations is granted to those who
a) possesses a certificate of proficiency (EFZ) or an equivalent certificate and can prove that they have at least 3 years of professional experience in the technical/craft sector after obtaining their qualification
or
b) holds a federal vocational certificate (EBA)
or an equivalent certificate and has at least 5 years of professional experience in the technical/craft sector after obtaining the qualification.
c) Subject to the timely transfer of the examination fee in accordance with section 3.4.1.
