Job description
You will perform qualified and specialized tasks in the design of floral workpieces, consulting, sales, marketing, assortment design, procurement and logistics, and will perform management functions. You will be responsible for the ordinary day-to-day business (orders, store supply, quality control, calculation of florals and workpieces, deployment of employees, etc.). You are also responsible for an attractive presentation of the goods in the salesroom. With your expertise, you will lead, instruct and train employees and apprentices. You organize the operational processes in flower stores, garden centers, nurseries or mixed businesses of various sizes and orientations.
Educational goal
Candidates must prove through the professional examination that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to meet higher requirements in the profession of florist. Florists with a federal certificate of proficiency possess the following professional skills:
Floristry
- Produce everyday floristry at a high level
- Create sophisticated floral workpieces
- Design and sketch occasion-oriented room designs and decorations as well as interior greenery and implement them.
Sales and sales promotion
- Plan and design the assortment of cut flowers, plants and accessories within the framework of the business philosophy
- Advise customers on the design with cut flowers, plants, the decoration possibilities as well as the use of accessories/auxiliary materials and respond to special customer requests
- Take larger orders
- Present the assortment in salesrooms (inside and outside) and shop windows
- Implement measures for sales-oriented customer communication
Company organization
- Plan and organize large orders
