Job description
As a proven management and technical specialist, you will be responsible for cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of the buildings, operation and maintenance of the building technology, environmental work, customer contacts and employee management, including training of apprentices. For larger or more complex tasks, you will commission specialized external companies after consultation with your superior and supervise their execution. You have basic administrative and legal knowledge. You are responsible for the implementation of ecological and safety guidelines. You are able to respond to people.
Educational objective
Targeted and practice-oriented transfer of basic knowledge for the maintenance, operation and conservation of value of buildings and their surroundings within the scope of the current examination regulations and guidelines. This professional examination is intended to determine whether the candidate has the necessary skills required of janitors with a federal certificate of proficiency.
Requirements
Only candidates with the following educational background are admitted to the federal professional examination:
- Previous education and professional experience
- Swiss Federal Certificate of Proficiency (EFZ)
- 2 years of professional experience as a janitor with a workload of at least 80 percent. This requirement must be met by the registration deadline for the federal professional examination (approx. end of January of the examination year).
Certificates and passes (these must have been obtained by the closing date for registration for the federal vocational examination (approx. end of January of the examination year))
- Course certificate as vocational instructor
- European Computer Drivers Licence (ECDL Base) or "ICT Smart-User SIZ" diploma
- Emergency aid certificate
- BLS-AED-SRC complete course (Generic Provider)
- Specialized permit for the use of plant protection products in special areas
Proof of practice must be provided by means of activity-describing, legally signed confirmation of work from all employers. Only persons with a good knowledge of German (level B2) and who have sent us their complete application documents will be admitted to the course. The course management reserves the right to conduct a language competence test or an entrance examination. You must also be prepared to actively participate in the lessons, to regularly spend the time required for self-study and homework, as well as to prepare and follow up the lessons (ratio of lessons to preparation and follow-up approximately 1:1). If students are aiming for the internal diploma, they can also participate in the educational program without the official requirements.
